For mixed units consisting of multiple permanent magnet variable frequency compressors and fixed-speed compressors, a group control system compatible with frequency conversion regulation and fixed-speed start-stop switching is required. If only multiple variable frequency units are deployed, a load-balancing group control system is applicable.


For small workshops equipped with 2 to 3 units, a simple linkage control cabinet is sufficient. Medium and large factories with 5 or more units and production lines featuring large day-night air consumption gaps shall adopt intelligent cloud-based group control. It can automatically distribute loads and rotate main units to balance operating hours, preventing one unit from running at full load for a long time while others idle. Meanwhile, confirm the system supports capacity expansion so that newly added air compressors can be directly connected later without full controller replacement.


Match Process Requirements of Compressed Air and Pressure Control Precision

Select the control precision according to the air pressure stability requirements of manufacturing processes. Workshops sensitive to pressure fluctuations, such as those for spraying and precision electronic processing, require a group control system with differential pressure control accuracy ≤0.02 MPa, which automatically adjusts unit output to stabilize pipeline pressure. Ordinary mechanical processing and hardware workshops can adopt conventional differential pressure linkage systems.


For factories with separate plant areas and multiple independent pipelines, choose a group control system with zoned pressure management. It can set different air supply pressures for individual workshops to avoid energy waste caused by uniform high-pressure supply. If dryers, air storage tanks, waste heat recovery equipment are configured, prioritize an integrated group control system that can link post-processing equipment. It synchronizes the start and stop of dryers along with compressors to cut idle energy consumption.


Take Operation Monitoring, Data Functions and On-site Conditions into Consideration

For long-term energy-saving management, intelligent group control with real-time collection of energy consumption, air flow and pressure data is recommended. It supports local touchscreen viewing as well as remote monitoring via mobile phones and computers, automatically records power consumption and air output data, generates reports, and quickly pinpoints air leakage and idle power waste.


For explosion-proof workshops and heavily dusty forging & metallurgy plants, select control cabinets with higher protection grades and explosion-proof design. Precision factories with strict noise control requirements can opt for silent control cabinets.


In addition, evaluate after-sales support. Choose brands with universal spare parts and remote debugging functions. On-site visits by professional technicians are unnecessary for later maintenance and program modification, lowering the plant’s operation and maintenance costs.
